The Melbourne Center for Personal Growth (MCPG) is a non-secure program for males, ages 13 to 18, who are in need of Substance Abuse Treatment Services.  The program provides a structured residential environment for committed youth offering opportunities for personal growth, social development, and vocational training.

The program activities include: a rigorous educational curricula, individual group and family counseling; mental health overlay services; community service projects; drug treatment and structured recreational and leisure activities. The Personal Growth Model (PGM) focuses
on using a unique blend of evidence-based substance-abuse treatment techniques, behavior
modification, and education as part of the treatment approach.

The system of support and treatment is designed to prepare youth to become productive citizens as they return to their homes and communities.  The anticipated average length of stay depends on the youth's pace of success in completing the individualized treatment plan and goals.

The Melbourne Center for Personal Growth is a Type 2 program offering English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and one elective course. The elective course is typically used to provide additional reading assistance to needy students or vocational training.

Education and vocational services are provided through the Brevard County School District.  Vocational opportunities include: Florida Ready to Work, Microsoft Office, Culinary Arts Training, and Serve Safe.
