Monitoring and Quality Improvement Certified Peer Reviewer Training

The Bureau of Monitoring and Quality Improvement (MQI) is pleased to announce we will be conducting Certified Peer Reviewer Trainings during the Spring 2021. Certified Peer Reviewer participation is integral to the MQI process and separates Florida’s MQI system from similar systems throughout the nation. The Bureau relies on the skills and expertise of trained professional staff to assist our Regional Monitor in conducting reviews of Florida’s juvenile justice programs.

The Certified Peer Reviewer Training is a two-day training which provides an in-depth review of the MQI process, including an overview of all MQI standards, rating definitions, debriefing process, and basics of writing an annual compliance report. All participants must pass a written examination in order to become a Certified Peer Reviewer.

Individuals interested in becoming a Certified Peer Reviewer must currently be a manager, supervisor, or other experienced employee possessing at least a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in juvenile justice programs. Exceptions will be allowed upon review and approval by the Bureau Chief of Monitoring and Quality Improvement based on the employee’s current position and years of experience in juvenile justice programs. The Certified Peer Reviewer Waiver Form must be submitted to the MQI Bureau Chief for review and approval.

**Training REQUIRES participants have a working webcam, speakers, and microphone, as well as to utilize TEAMS in order to participate, which are essential components of the training.**
